Thompson Road Entrance and Walk

This area was replanted in 2020 with Amelanchier lamarckii, Hosta spp. and a group of Hemerocallis spp. to provide a more welcoming entrance.

 

Existing plants include the Azara microphylla from Chile and Argentina.

The  large specimens of this elegant tree have large sprays of dainty foliage, with yellow, vanilla-scented flowers appearing in early spring.

Rubus ‘Benenden’ syn. tridel ‘Benenden’, is one of the most beautiful of the ornamental brambles. It has glistening white, flowers  5 cm across, with a central boss of golden-yellow stamens, produced singly all along the arching branches in May.
