Sheffield Botanical Gardens will be closed to the public to host events as follows:
3rd & 15th August Gardens will close at 5.45pm for Theatre in the Gardens
3rd-8th September Gardens will be closed to the public for Art in the Gardens.
Pedestrian Access for patrons of the Dorothy Fox Education Centre will be via Thompson Road Entrance.

Join local felt artist, Harriet Morley, who will teach you how to make your own Barn Owl picture using wet felting and needle felting techniques. You do not need to be able to draw as a template is provided and there will also be a choice of various merino wools to use for your background colours.

In March 2022 Ben Preston and his partner Laura took on a derelict nursery in North Yorkshire; Ben will share their journey of building the new nursery from scratch (warts and all), the plants they grow and how they propagate them.

Join local artist Jenny for a relaxing and hands-on workshop introducing the practice of nature journalling. Set in the tranquil setting of Sheffield Botanical Gardens, this is a rare chance to step back and really notice the natural world. You will also develop your creative skills in painting and drawing and be inspired to develop a new regular creative habit.
Felted Mushroom Workshop
A fun mushroom sculpture, Felting Workshop. I’ll teach you how to make a sculpture of a mushroom using needle felting techniques. All materials are provided along with light refreshments.

A fun Pumpkin Felting Workshop.
During the afternoon Harriet will teach you how to make a sculpture of a pumpkin using needle felting techniques. Various colours and designs are available to choose from.

The Friends of Botanical Gardens Sheffield are hosting a plant sale on the lawn opposite The Dorothy Fox Centre. Join them to buy from a selection of plant grown in the gardens/by their volunteers. All proceeds go to the Friends group.
