Friend of the Botanical Gardens, Vernon Sanderson will give an overview of the history of the NGS charity, their plans to celebrate their centenary in 2027 and share tales of his own participation in the Scheme over many years.

A 'drop off' summer school holiday group for children 5 - 12 years who want to have fun, learn and explore in nature. GO WILD will encourage your child's development and interests following the 'forest school' ethos and will explore what’s wild in the gardens!

Clumber Head Gardener, Dene Wood will share some of the horticultural and heritage projects his team have delivered in recent years and share thoughts around future developments.

In July we will be looking at plants used to make natural dyes.

Garden writer Geoff Hodge will provide hints, tips and advice on vegetative propagation, from splitting herbaceous plants to taking cuttings from a wide range of garden plants.

The Friends of Botanical Gardens Sheffield are hosting a plant sale on the lawn opposite The Dorothy Fox Centre. Join them to buy from a selection of plant grown in the gardens/by their volunteers. All proceeds go to the Friends group.

In this illustrated talk, Dr Jenny Stephenson will give an overview of the history of the use of plant-based medications over the world and relate this to their basic chemistry and use of some in today’s medicines.

This evening we will be looking at how plants and pollinators work together.
